On 14th February, CRISOWO was honoured to host members of the Austrian Parliament. The delegation led by the Head of Coordination Office for Development Cooperation, Mr. Günter Engelits. MP Dr. Axel Kassegger and MP Erwin Angerer together with their Secretary Mr. Siegfried Waschnig were on a tour to several African countries to establish contacts and prepare for a bigger visit by the "Friendship Association Austria - Africa south of the Sahara". The delegation were interested in understanding how professional social work in contributing to national development in Uganda and the progress of the APPEAR funded PROSOWO project and the newly established Centre for Research and Innovation in Social Work (CRISOWO). The delegation was received by the Head of the Department of Social Work, Prof Eddy Joshua Walakira and the CRISOSO regional Coordinator, Dr Janestic Twikirize. They also met and interacted with members of staff of the department of social work.
In Uganda, the team also met with the Speaker of Parliament, Ministry of Water and Environment and Makerere University East African Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.
